Peruse Peru - the colorful streets of Barranco
Three airports, two flights and two lost (and found) bags later and I have finally touched down in Peru!
First stop in Lima: a breakfast stall my driver and amigo nuevo, Felix (aka Pepe), took me to for papaya juices and hot mini sandwiches, made by the famous Katty herself! Tasted especially delicious after an 18 hour travel day.
The colorful streets of Barranco
Our two bedroom Airbnb was situated right in the heart of Barranco, Lima's self-proclaimed boho and artist district. Located on the southernmost stretch of the Costa Verde, the green coast, this neighborhood sits just a few blocks from the ocean and is host to former colonial vacation estates turned public museums, apartments and shops. Relaxed yet buzzing with a welcoming mix of first timers and neighborhood loke dawgs (that's how I will refer to "locals" from here on out), I loved how easy it was to walk for miles on the cliff top Avenida La Mar and take in the vibrant buildings, parks and ocean views along the way.

When in Lima: Pisco Sours and ceviche at POPULAR, a bar/restaurant in the swanky Miraflores shopping center of Larcomar
Reunited with our bags after they decided to make their way to Lima too!
Lima, I like you and you've been an interesting 48 hours, but now we're off to adventure in the jungle. Hasta pronto Amazon!
